(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Amman) As food prices around the world continue to soar, even the smallest efforts can make a difference, and providing a helping hand to strangers needs to be encouraged. After hearing about the local food drive organized by Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah made a stop to one of the collection drives, Wednesday, to include her own donation of canned food items.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) On Tuesday, Queen Rania joined orphans from 10 social care institutions for iftar at the Hal Hilalak tent.
Before the iftar, the Queen sat with the children, who were entertained by stilt walkers, mimes, clowns and a magician.

(Jordan Times - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania on Tuesday highlighted youth unemployment and traffic accidents in the Kingdom, and urged for solutions to tackle these endemic problems.
“So that the unemployment rate in Jordan will not get any higher, we should create 80,000 work opportunities annually, that is, a job every seven minutes,” Queen Rania said yesterday during the Next Generation Conference (NGC), a gathering which examines solutions for common challenges facing youths in the Arab World.

(Jordan Times, Roufan Nahhas - Dead Sea) The three-day 4th International Olympic Committee (IOC) World Conference on Women and Sport held under the patronage of Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania concluded on Monday with the participation of more than 500 delegates from 150 countries at the King Hussein Ben Talal Convention Centre.
Her Majesty Queen Rania discussed the role played by women in developing sports.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah often speaks of how much she enjoys spending quality time with children, so it was no surprise to any of the 40 young students gathered at the Children’s Museum of Jordan to have the Queen there to narrate her own story, Wednesday, in celebration of Mother’s Day.
Queen Rania joined a mother and a grandmother from Irbid and Salt, both deemed cultural capitals in 2007 and 2008, respectively, to read to the assembled youngsters, and celebrate Mother’s Day.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Zarqa) In a scene typical of an Arabian fairytale, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah presided over the graduation ceremony of the third class of mounted policewomen in Zarqa, on Wednesday.
Standing in a barren desert, surrounded by decorated horses, Queen Rania handed out certificates to Sergeant Khadija Jamal Al Deen Ismaeel, Sergeant Major Amal Nasser Abdullah, and Wala Zakariya Mohammad, who were awarded the first, second, and third place prizes respectively.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania joined more than 50 children, prominent media personnel and private and public sector officials in a discussion aiming to safeguard children from all forms of abuse.
During a media forum entitled, “Protect me; I’m a child”, held to mark the World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse celebrated today, Queen Rania told the participants that Jordan has become a leader in child protection and is now exporting expertise and programmes in this field to neighbouring countries.
