(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Sahab) Accompanied by a host of colorful balloons and cheerful teddy bears, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited Operation Smile’s youngest patients in Jordan to distract the children from pre-operative fears and post-operative pains.

Operation Smile, a nonprofit medical services organization, is marking its 25th anniversary by carrying out 5,000 operations through 40 simultaneous medical missions in 25 countries this month.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah launched the Jordan River Foundation’s (JRF) sustainability report, Sunday, in a meeting attended by board members and supporters. This makes the foundation the Middle East’s first non-governmental organization (NGO) to author such a report. JRF hopes this new way of transparent reporting will attract more partners and donors and help scale up their efforts to improve the quality of life and access to economic opportunities for more Jordanians.

(Jordan Times - Amman) The country’s five telecommunication companies came together under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania on Tuesday to sign an agreement activating a toll-free Family Support Helpline.

The agreement was signed at the Building Public-Private Partnerships to Enhance Social and Economic Development Conference held at the Dead Sea to highlight corporate social responsibility and the importance of partnerships among different sectors.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Madaba) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, UNICEF's first Eminent Advocate for Children, visited Al Faisaliyeh Primary Health Care Center in Madaba, to promote the center's advancement in providing quality health care access for the governorate's youngest citizens and their mothers.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Davos) As world leaders from business, politics, academia, the media and civil society continued arriving at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah joined the Young Global Leaders (YGLs) for a briefing on their recent projects including the launch of the Global Dignity Project.

The discussion focused on the YGLs' role in using their expertise and experience in helping their local communities as well as the global community.

After taking part in a fruitful Leadership Enhancement and Mentoring Program sponsored by the Jordanian chapter, participants joined Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah to share their experiences and stories of personal growth over the course of the program.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Amman) In an effort to bolster women's participation in the workforce, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah patronized a High Level Gender Policy Forum, which convened in Amman.

After attending the opening session of the forum, Queen Rania met with a number of prominent leaders who are strong advocates of increasing women's worldwide participation in the workforce.

"Who is on the top is capable of combining vision and the will for change and we are on the top and it is our responsibility to extend our hands to every single woman to show her limitless horizons," the Queen said at the inaugural session of the Arab Women’s Organization (AWO) conference in Abu Dhabi.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Amman) Lauding the progress of the Child Helpline International (CHI), Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah advocated wider outreach to all children in need, at the fourth annual CHI Consultation Conference, in Amman, Monday.

Patronizing the first CHI conference held outside of Europe, Her Majesty thanked the attendees for recognizing Jordan as an example of a developing country dedicated to ending the misery of child abuse.

AMMAN (JT) - Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania on Sunday visited four hospitals in Amman and Irbid to check on the condition of 16 people injured in a recent road accident.

The accident, in which a passenger bus and a water tanker collided and plunged into a deep valley on the Amman-Jerash highway, claimed the lives of 21 people and injured 33 others.
