Today marks the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah. In the past two years, Her Majesty has directed most of her attention towards ensuring that quality education is available to all children in Jordan and across the world.

Colleen McEdwards: Well, Jordan's Queen Rania is without question a different sort of sovereign, she's young, well educated, she chairs non-governmental organizations, and she travels the world, talking about education and the rights of women and children.
I had a chance to talk to her while she was in Los Angeles. We discussed her work, the war in Iraq, and her recent visit to an L.A. high school.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) While Ajloun was snowed in after the blizzard that affected the Kingdom, Her Majesty Queen Rania called in at the Ministry of Tourism and Environment to discuss its future development plans.
Queen Rania was briefed by officials on the Urban Regeneration and Tourism Development Master Plan for Ajloun Governorate which seeks to make use of the landscape and agricultural resources of the area, capitalizing on its touristic, agricultural and environmental potential to achieve sustainable socio-economic development.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah opened Tuesday The Khaled Shoman Foundation headquarters and an art exhibition, titled ‘Outside Place’ and a fine arts laboratory at Darat Al Funun’s newest extension in Jabal Luweibdeh in Amman. The inauguration ceremony and reception were attended by several writers, artists and media representatives.
