Queen Rania Chairs Meeting of the Higher National Committee for Amman Culture Capital of the Arab World for the Year 2002

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania chaired a meeting of the Higher National Committee for Amman Culture Capital of the Arab World for the Year 2002, in which the proposed activities and programs of the one-year event were discussed.

Queen Rania, who heads the Higher Committee, was briefed on the work done in preparation for the cultural event and approved some of the programs, which include special activities for children.

Queen Rania Inaugurates Princess Iman Al Abdullah Center for Scientific Research at Hussein Medical City

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Iman inaugurated the opening of the Princess Iman Al-Abdullah Center for Scientific Research at the Hussein Medical City.

The Center was established upon the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah and falls in line with his efforts targeted towards improving the medical services in the Kingdom.

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania in Kuwait

(Royal Hashemite Court, Communication & Information Division - Amman) Jordan and Kuwait on Sunday called for the resumption of the Middle East peace process and urged the international community to continue aiding the Palestinians.

His Majesty King Abdullah and Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah said at a Dar Al Salwa meeting here dialogue and negotiations should lead to the implementation of the roadmap and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness Rewarded

(Royal Hashemite Court, Media & Communication Directorate - Amman) Winners of the King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness were honoured on Tuesday at a ceremony held at Al Hussein Sports City.

The event, held under the patronage of Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania, honoured students who participated in the King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness Programme and achieved high marks during the evaluation stages.

The programme also honoured schools that won first place and members of the Award Central Committee.

Youth are the voice for change, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah said Wednesday, stressing that Jordanian youth can significantly contribute to the building of a better future of their country through participation in dialogue and exchange of ideas.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the four-day UNICEF Regional Youth Forum, Queen Rania also said Palestinian youth share the same aspirations and ambitions of youth across the world and will to chart a better future for themselves and their people, despite the difficult conditions they are currently enduring.

During a media forum entitled, “Protect me; I’m a child”, held to mark the World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse celebrated today, Queen Rania told the participants that Jordan has become a leader in child protection and is now exporting expertise and programmes in this field to neighbouring countries.
 

Queen Rania Meets Experts in Culture, Art, and Media to Promote Amman as the Cultural Capital of the Arab World for 2002

Amman Culture Capital of the Arab World for the year 2002 is envisioned as a springboard promoting Jordan culturally on the local, Arab and international levels said Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah on Monday, stressing that the momentum created by the event for the Kingdom's cultural movement should be sustained in the years and decades to come.
