It is great to be here with you and other visionary leaders to talk about the importance of education and our experience with the Jordan Education Initiative. And I would like to thank you for your belief in Jordan, and commitment to JEI. Your support, and that of all our partners, has enabled us to grasp an exciting opportunity.

I am delighted to be here with all of you… to be a part of this conference… and especially, to share the program with such inspiring women leaders. 

I am sure everyone here, throughout our lives, has learned a great deal from the women around us – our mothers, grandmothers, sisters and friends.

Thank you, Nermin, for those kind words – and, more importantly, for all you do as president of the Mosaic Foundation. Over the past eight years, the Mosaic Foundation has played an inspiring role – not only in lifting the lives of women and children around the world… but in showing how much Arab women can do, individually and collectively. Tonight’s magnificent gala is just the latest proof of your leadership.

I would also like to thank Laura Bush for honoring us with her support… and for her lifetime of service on behalf of children, literacy and education.

In 2006, what our region needed was a renewed peace effort; what our region got was the devastating cat and mouse conclusion of Hezbollah’s skirmishes and Israel’s imperious invasion of Lebanon.

Queen Rania Attends Second Annual YAL Forum

(Jordan Times, Petra - Dead Sea) Participants in the second Young Arab Leaders (YAL) forum concluded their two-day meeting on Monday by issuing recommendations on development of the youth sector and empowering young Arabs to assume leadership positions in their communities.

They also agreed on accelerating plans to build educational programmes, jointly with specialised institutions, to train and produce, on a scientific basis, a generation of young Arab leaders.

Queen Rania attends interactive play designed to raise traffic awareness among schoolchildren

(Jordan Times - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania on Tuesday joined a group of schoolchildren attending a performance of “Stop,” part of an educational campaign designed to raise traffic awareness among schoolchildren.

The play is one of the activities implemented by the National Traffic Awareness Campaign, which was launched by Queen Rania, in cooperation with the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and the private sector.

Queen Rania Meets with Arab Women's Day Activists and Listens to Their Local Sucesses and Challenges

(The Jordan Times - Madaba) Her Majesty Queen Rania on Wednesday met with women activists working under the Women's Empowerment for Democracy and Governance Project — MAKANA in Madaba and underlined the importance of their role in addressing problems facing local communities.

Under the MAKANA project, women volunteers help address domestic daily life problems in their areas through listening to local demands and conveying these to officials.

Queen Rania calls for multicultural responsibility in corporate world, public sector and civil society

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Deauville) At the opening ceremony of the second annual meeting of the Women's Forum in Deauville, France on Thursday, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah urged attendants from the corporate world, public sector, and civil society to start a trend of multicultural responsibility and replace a growing culture of fear and suspicion around the world with a revolution of acceptance and hope.
