Queen Rania Graduates Third Class of Mounted Policewomen

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Zarqa) In a scene typical of an Arabian fairytale, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah presided over the graduation ceremony of the third class of mounted policewomen in Zarqa, on Wednesday. 
 
Standing in a barren desert, surrounded by decorated horses, Queen Rania handed out certificates to Sergeant Khadija Jamal Al Deen Ismaeel, Sergeant Major Amal Nasser Abdullah, and Wala Zakariya Mohammad, who were awarded the first, second, and third place prizes respectively. 
 

Queen Rania Receives UNICEF State of World’s Children 2005 Report

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) At a time when Jordan has children’s issues at the forefront of its national agenda, UNICEF launched the State of the World’s Children 2005 report here under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania al-Abdullah.

The report under the theme of “Childhood under Threat”, uncovers the magnitude of challenges the world has yet to tackle in order to ensure that children are not denied their childhood, with poverty, armed conflict and HIV/AIDS highlighted as the unresolved impediments to the development of children.

Queen Rania Launches "The State of the World's Children 2003" UNICEF Report

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah launched "The State of the World's Children 2003" UNICEF Report that calls for greater participation of children in decisions affecting their lives.

The launching of the UNICEF report is part of Queen Rania's efforts in supporting programs that contribute to improving the lives of children and youth in Jordan and internationally.

As member of UNICEF's Global Leadership Initiative, Queen Rania had stressed the importance of global commitment towards improving the lives of children.

During a visit to the Zaha Mango Paediatrics Ward, Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania unveiled the Amal Cancer Centre's new name, the King Hussein Cancer Centre.

Their Majesties visited with young patients of the centre on the occasion of Ramadan and spent time with their families.

Queen Rania Visits Local Community Organizations in Madaba

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - AMMAN) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah visited local community organizations in the Governorate of Madaba, and was briefed on various development efforts that go hand-in-hand with her initiatives meeting the needs and aspirations of the Jordanian citizen.

The Queen's first stop was the Madaba Secondary School for Girls, where she inspected its recently-built computer laboratory.

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Receive Spanish Royal Couple

(Royal Hashemite Court, Communication & Information Division - Amman) Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania Al-Abdullah on Monday received the Spanish royal couple, King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, who started a three-day State visit to the country.

King Carlos and Queen Sofia are due to meet with Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit, Senate President Zeid Rifai and House Speaker Abdul Hadi Majali.

King Carlos was also scheduled to address the Spanish-Jordanian Business Forum.

Queen Rania Sees off Third Convoy of Medical Assistance to Leave Jordan for Iraq

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) In accordance with His Majesty King Abullah’s effort in supporting the Iraqi people during the current situation, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah saw off the third convoy of trucks scheduled to leave Jordan for Iraq carrying much needed medical equipment.

During the visit, Queen Rania exchanged talks with officials responsible for the convey that comprises 20 trucks carrying medical equipments, virals, food items, as well as infant milk.
