School visit

(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department – Amman) - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah paid a visit to Balat Al Shuhada’ Elementary School in Amman today where she checked up on the Royal Health Awareness Society’s Think First program. Think First is an injury prevention program that aims to integrate injury prevention measures in the daily lives of young Jordanians. The Program is designed and implemented by the Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) which was founded and is chaired by Her Majesty.

(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department – Amman) - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, on Tuesday, stressed that youth and students are the pride of Jordan and that His Majesty King Abdullah and the Government are working to provide various means which will enhance their capabilities and unleash their potential. 

Her Majesty was speaking to a group of 20 female students from the Maymoonah Secondary School for Girls, during a visit to the Al-Manara area in East Amman. 

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Johannesburg) Starting a three-day working trip to Johannesburg, South Africa, Her Majesty Queen Rania, on Thursday, met with the South African statesman and Nobel Prize laureate Nelson Mandela and his wife, Graca Machel.

During the meeting, members of the Nelson Mandela organizations briefed Her Majesty about the various legacy projects currently underway, including the planned Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital, which will be one of three such facilities in all of Africa.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah paid a surprise visit to a school in Khreibet Al Souq and visited a home for the elderly in Juweideh as part of efforts to ensure the social development of all sectors of Jordanian society.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Al Jiza) Schools across the Kingdom started their new academic year today after a long summer holiday; at Al Jiza Secondary School for Girls students said they were pleasantly surprised to be returning to school to find Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah on their campus.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Salt) As part of her efforts targeted towards reaching out to and communicating with the local community, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited the Salt Secondary High School for Girls and inaugurated the Ministry of Education’s Learning Resource Center in Balqa Governorate.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Amman) As part of her nation-wide initiative to introduce computers and Information Technology in schools across the Kingdom and to incorporate their use in the educational system, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah Wednesday distributed fully equipped computers to Umm Habiba Secondary School for Girls in Wadi Seer.
