Over the past 41 years, the people of Gaza have been living under occupation. Over the past 18 months, they have been living under siege. And for the past 10 days, the people of Gaza have been subject to a cruel and continuous military attack.

Seven years ago, the international community gathered in Dakar and pledged to achieve Education for All by the year 2015. The goals include expanding early childhood care and education; providing free, compulsory primary education; promoting learning and life skills; increasing adult literacy by 50 per cent; achieving gender equality, and ensuring quality education for all.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah launched, Tuesday, a new plan to renovate Jordan’s public schools and improve the learning environment. “Madrasati”, Queen Rania’s latest initiative, will build a partnership between community members and public and private institutions, to upgrade at least 500 of the Kingdom’s public schools.
