Queen Rania's Speech at the 1GOAL Campaign: Education for All Launch - London, UK

I’m here to ask you to join one team and help us reach one goal.

One goal:  To change the lives of children through education for all.

And I’m honored to be introduced by a champion who won the Golden Shoe.

Now that’s one, I don’t have!  But, seriously, I think it’s great to see stilettos and cleats lining up together… in support of a golden chance to make a lasting difference for the world.

Thank you very much, Rob; it feels good to be introduced by “the most influential man in telecoms” today. Like you, I’m thrilled about the promise of the premier league partnership of GSMA and 1GOAL, and I’ll be talking about that too, a bit later in my remarks.

But first, let me say how honored I am to be part of such a dynamic conference: as dynamic in scale and expertise… as it is in vision and innovation.

Enabling over 3 billion connections, and growing at a rate of over 1000 subscribers per minute, it’s no wonder that GSMA is the mobile industry’s leading institution.

In Interview with Shania Twain, Queen Rania Talks about 1GOAL

Shania Twain (ST): Hello I’m Shania Twain. You’re listening to a special Friday edition of The Current. Around the world there are seventy two million children who don’t have access to education, And now FIFA, the international governing body of soccer has teamed up with the Global Campaign for Education to try to change that. The result is the 1Goal campaign and the idea is to make sure that every single child in the world is able to go to school. It’s a lofty goal but the campaign has a powerful backer.
