Queen Rania Commends Women’s Accomplishments in Irbid

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Irbid) – Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met with a group of women leaders, activists and professionals in the Governorate of Irbid today.

During the meeting, which was held over lunch, Her Majesty commended the women’s accomplishments and achievements in their respective fields and stressed the integral role they play in the development process. Her Majesty also thanked them for their continuous efforts in bringing about positive change in their communities.

Queen Rania Visits Hai Nazzal in Amman

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met with about thirty women beneficiaries of grants given out by Her Majesty for income generating projects in Hai Nazzal. The grants were given in cooperation with Community Centers Association (CCA) and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC) in 2008.

Queen Rania Joins Panel on Empowering Girls and Women at CGI's Annual Meeting

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- New York) Her Majesty Queen Rania was a member of a panel discussion that took place today as part of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meetings in New York. The Panel discussed the issues empowering girls and women, with increased focus on the developing world. Moderated by TV personality and journalist Katie Couric, the panel also included Ms. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, President of Liberia and Mr. Muhtar Kent, CEO of Coca Cola.

Her Majesty is in New York accompanying His Majesty King Abdullah II on a trip to the US.

Queen Rania Receives the Leadership Award at WIE Symposium in NY

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- New York) - Sarah Brown presented Her Majesty Queen Rania with the Leadership Award today at the “Women: Inspiration and Enterprise Symposium” (WIE) which is a new annual conference for women hosted by Brown, Arianna Huffington and Donna Karan.

The award was given to Her Majesty for Her work and dedication as an outstanding global leader in promoting the rights of girls and women around the world. Her Majesty received the award, as part of Her trip with His Majesty King Abdullah II to the US.

Queen Rania Meets Members of the Arab Women Labour Affairs Committee

(Jordan Times, Petra - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania, honorary president of the Arab Women Labour Affairs Committee (AWLAC), underlined the need to increase job openings for women and raise their awareness about joining the labour market.
 
During a meeting with the AWLAC members, she stressed the importance of cooperation among Arab countries to expand women’s participation in the labour market.
 

Queen Rania Stresses the Importance of Dialogue in Bridging the Gap Between People
