Queen Rania Views Completed Renovations at King Abdullah II Orphanage

(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department – Amman) - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Orphanage in Al Salt on Wednesday to review recent renovations to the orphanage’s facilities.

Supported by the Office of Her Majesty and implemented in collaboration with Nashmi Center for Youth Empowerment, the renovation work was undertaken to transform the orphanage into a model site for orphan care.

The project includes upgrades to the facility’s bedrooms, common areas, washrooms, kitchen, and outdoor spaces, as well as the installation of new flooring and a number of essential accessories and fixtures.

The Queen was welcomed by Orphanage President, Sabri Al Masoud, and Director, Rima Kloub, who briefed Her Majesty on efforts to reform and modernize the establishment.

Her Majesty also spoke with Founder of Nashmi Center, Ala’ Al Bashiti, who relayed the positive experiences of a group of Nashmi youth volunteers, who contributed to the renovation process. She then toured the facility and met with orphans and orphanage staff.

King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Orphanage was founded in 1965 by the Jordan Red Crescent Society. The orphanage currently accommodates 12 orphan girls between the ages of 4 and 15.
