(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department – Amman) - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah marked the holiday season on Wednesday with a visit to the Mar Mansour Charitable Society in Amman, joining a group of children as they engaged in a variety of Christmas activities.
Upon Her Majesty’s arrival, she was welcomed by Mar Mansour’s Board of Directors President Souheil Kalis and its Vice President Karim Bawab. She was also greeted by the society’s Director Sister Balsam Franso, Sister Mother Daniela Giuliani, and Sister Elena Farah.
Joining the children for holiday-themed activities organized by the Children’s Museum – Jordan, Queen Rania observed and commended their work as they designed Christmas tree ornaments, made snow globes, weaved Christmas wreaths, and decorated gingerbread houses.
Her Majesty then gathered with the nuns for a conversation around the Christmas tree, as Santa Claus distributed gifts to the children.
Founded in 1957, the Mar Mansour Charitable Society aims to serve and support disadvantaged families and children. It established a care home in 1974 for children between the ages of 3 and 18 years old, where it has provided a loving, stable home environment to more than 600 children to date.
