Queen Rania Selected for UN Chief's High-level Advisory Panel on Post-2015 Development Agenda

(Office of Her Majesty - Press department- New York) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met, today, with UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, where they discussed the United Nations new efforts to finance global education and ensure the 72 million children around the world denied an education, enroll in schools.

Also during the meeting, Ban Ki Moon lauded Her Majesty for her efforts to improve global education, especially co-chairing 1GOAL, and her constant support for UN Girls’ Education Initiative (UNGEI), and UNICEF.

Queen Rania Encourages Active Private Sector Involvement in Education at UNDP Ceremony

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – New York) Co-hosting the UNDP World Business and Development Award ceremony in New York, Wednesday, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah used the platform as an opportunity to encourage attendees from the private sector to get more involved in improving access to quality education around the world.

Queen Rania, Ban Ki-moon Discuss Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Wednesday, during his visit to Amman to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. During the meeting, Her Majesty noted the UN’s efforts in calling for an immediate end to the violence, but said that more pressure needs to be put on Israel.

Despite numerous calls on behalf of the international community for an immediate ceasefire, the situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate while the ability of relief agencies to assist is impeded, she said.
