(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- New York) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah attended the annual Advisory Board meeting of the Columbia University Middle East Research Center in Amman. The meeting took place at Columbia University’s main campus in New York, and comes as a part of Her Majesty’s trip to the US accompanying His Majesty King Abdullah II.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) – Under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, the Columbia University Middle East Research Center (CUMERC) in conjunction with the Earth Institute at Columbia University and the Jordanian Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC), held a signing ceremony for the Institute for Sustainable Development Practice on Monday December 6, 2010.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania, on Tuesday, met with trainers, teachers, principals and supervisors at the Queen Rania Teachers Academy (QRTA) to discuss the Academy’s achievements, the effectiveness of its professional development programs, and future plans for growth.

Thanks to a series of meetings between Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, President Lee Bollinger of Columbia University, and President Susan Fuhrman of Columbia's Teachers College, as well as Her Majesty's visits to Columbia University, 12 Jordanian teachers will participate in a teachers' training program at Columbia University this summer where they will have the chance to learn some new techniques to bring back to their classrooms.
