Queen Rania Meets with Volunteering School Teacher

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- AMMAN) – In appreciation for his giving spirit and volunteering efforts, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met today with a teacher from the Northern Badia district who took it upon himself to do maintenance work and services in his school at his own expense.

Murad Bani Khaled is an Arabic Teacher at Rawdat Al Ruwaie High School for Boys in the Northern Badia district.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the school’s principal -Mohammad Al Athamneh- Mr. Bani Khaled briefed Her Majesty on the different maintenance works they conducted in the school, and spoke about the different challenges they faced and the support they received from students, parents and the local community.

Her Majesty commended the educators’ efforts in enhancing the learning environment for their students, and applauded their genuine giving spirit, their passion for their school and their concern over their students’ education.

Queen Rania also stressed the importance of such initiatives that address the needs of local communities through inventive solutions and selfless acts that stem from members of the community itself, adding that they are the most capable of implementing such solutions as they are the most knowledgeable of their pressing challenges.

Bani Khaled started the initiative to conduct maintenance work at his own expense in the school with the support of the school principle, students, parents and volunteering members of the local community. Work done included classroom maintenance, providing the school with furniture, maintenance of water supply and electricity networks and refurbishment of both the library and kitchen in addition to general beautification of different school features.
