Queen Rania Chairs the Arab Open University Board of Trustees Meeting

(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department- Amman) – Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah chaired today the 16th meeting of the board of trustees of the Arab Open University in Amman.

At the Arab Open University campus, Her Majesty was received by HRH Prince Turki Bin Talal, Dr. Ali Fakhro, Deputy of the Chair and Dr. Mohammad Abu Qudais, President of the University in Jordan.

Her Majesty welcomed the board of trustees to Jordan and stressed the importance of the University in bridging gaps between the different Arab countries where it’s present. The University which opened in 2002, has branches in Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman and KSA.

Her Majesty also expressed the importance of the university’s courses such as the new Masters in Education program to be implemented in Jordan.

Dr. Ali Fakhro summarized to the audience the key points of the meeting and gave a brief about the Universities achievements to date, and the milestones and targets ahead.

HRH Prince Turki Bin Talal briefed Her Majesty and the board on the University buildings and on their new idea of establishing an investment body to provide the university with an added source of income.

The University was established as an educational nonprofit project by an initiative from HRH Prince Talal bin Abdelaziz.
