Edraak

About Edraak

Edraak means “realization” in Arabic and is a non-profit Arabic platform for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). It launched in May 2014 and is affiliated with the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development (QRF).

Edraak makes quality education in Arabic accessible to all internet users and promotes lifelong learning, whether for higher education or professional development. Edraak provides a platform for a diverse range of free online courses, offered by top universities and entities. They do this by harnessing regional and global Arab talent to leverage technology developed by the Harvard-MIT consortium, edX.

The Edraak platform also serves the important purpose of presenting Arab youth with new regional role models, with courses presented by individuals such as the Lebanese actress and film director Nadine Labaki.

Mission

To provide high quality Arabic online education and bridge the gap between formal education outcomes and learners’ needs while fostering professional development that contributes to new and improved opportunities.

Vision

To revolutionize delivery and access to education across the MENA region in order to enable Arab society to fulfill its potential.
