Her Majesty Queen Rania visits Anjara in Ajloun

(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department- Ajloun) –Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah paid a visit to the town of Anjara in the Governorate of Ajloun. Her Majesty’s visit to the area included a tour of a local school and a charitable association.

At Aysha Al Baounieh Elementary School for Girls, Her Majesty met and greeted the students and teachers. The Queen toured the school’s facilities, and heard from teachers about the schools needs, accomplishments and achievements. The school has previously participated in the King Abdullah II Award for physical fitness. Her Majesty also greeted the school’s students and listened to their feedback on the changes they would like to see in their school.

During Her visit to the area, the Queen met with the board of directors of Al Amani Charitable Society, who briefed Her Majesty on the Society’s mandate, the services it provides to the local community and its future plans. 

Her Majesty toured the society’s facilities which included the computer lab, ironing and sewing project, the productive kitchen which helps produce several kinds of natural herbs that grow naturally in the area.

The Queen also met with a group of beneficiaries of the society from the local community, who talked to Her Majesty about their accomplishments through working with the society.

Following the visit, Her Majesty tweeted about it, saying: “I can still smell the thyme & basil from Anjara in Ajloun! The local women are so impressive, just brimming with strength & will power.”

The society was established in 2006 and aims at utilizing the natural resources of Ajloun, governorate, producing natural and healthy home- made food by Ajloun’s women, promoting Ajloun as a touristic area and supporting local university students in need.
