The Queen's speech carried a message of cross cultural understanding and emphasized that "we are all much more alike than we are different; the experiences that shape us, no matter where we grow up bring out the same very human responses – of tears and laughter, fear and courage, uncertainty and enlightenment".

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Amman) For a child, having a small toy to play with is usually a welcomed break from homework and chores, but for thousands of underprivileged children this Ramadan, the gifts they will soon be receiving as part of the Toys of Hope initiative will be bringing immeasurable happiness and hope.

Hearing about the initiative through the many promotions created by Play 99.6 FM, a local Jordanian radio station, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah called into the station's morning show, to voice her support for the project.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Dalian) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, reiterated the importance of the bilateral ties between Jordan and China during a meeting with Chinese Prime Minister, Wen Jibao. The Chinese Prime Minister, for his part, commended the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah in the region and the world, and thanked Her Majesty for her participation at the meetings of the World Economic Forum, in her capacity as a Foundation Board Member. Queen Rania expressed her deep admiration of China's culture and history.

Abdullah Najjar, the chief executive officer of the Qatar Museum Authority, briefed the Queen on the various exhibits illustrating Islamic culture. The five-storey museum houses 800 artistic and historical treasures from three continents. Queen Rania is accompanying His Majesty on a two-day official visit to Qatar

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Milan) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, an honorary citizen of Milan, visited the historical city, where she and Princess Wijdan, Jordan's Ambassador to Italy, and Mayor Letizia Moratti took part in a class on cultural awareness at Dell’Infanzia School.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Amman) In an effort to bolster women's participation in the workforce, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah patronized a High Level Gender Policy Forum, which convened in Amman.

After attending the opening session of the forum, Queen Rania met with a number of prominent leaders who are strong advocates of increasing women's worldwide participation in the workforce.

(Royal Hashemite Court, Communication & Information Division - The Hague) His Majesty King Abdullah reiterated that there cannot be lasting peace until injustice against Palestinians is corrected.

"This is the basis for the landmark Arab Peace Initiative. Articulated at the 2002 meeting of all Arab states, it offered a comprehensive settlement… guaranteeing Israel's security to live in peace with its neighbors… and providing, at long last, a sovereign, viable and independent Palestine," the King told the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague on Tuesday.

Her Majesty will accept this honor in recognition of her efforts – via online video – to rid the world of the stereotypes and misconceptions associated with Arab and Muslim communities.
 

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Accepting the first ever YouTube Visionary Award via taped message, Saturday, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah opted for a very non-traditional approach at explaining why she chose to create a channel aimed at breaking down stereotypes about the Arab and Muslim worlds on YouTube.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania on Sunday emphasised the need to expand Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans’ financial resources in order to absorb the increase in the number of its beneficiaries.
Chairing a meeting of the fund's board of trustees yesterday, Queen Rania also highlighted the importance of boosting its administrative competence, according to a Royal Court statement.
