Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah checks up on JRF projects in Irbid

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) – Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited a number of Jordan River Foundation (JRF) projects in Irbid. During the visit, the Queen followed up on projects in Al Rafeed and Samar charitable organizations.

Upon Her Arrival at Samar Charitable Association, Her Majesty was received by JRF General Director Mrs. Valintina Qsaisyeh and the President of the Association Eng. Ghazi Al Omari. The Queen toured the association’s facilities including a tissue packing factory, which provides employment opportunities to the local community, a classroom for children with hearing and speech disabilities, and the Kindergarten that can serve up to 110 children (covering four villages in Irbid).

The association was established in 1971 with fifty members as part of the JRF Qudurat program, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC). In addition to the three main projects, the association provides awareness lectures to the local community such as general health, family violence and agriculture.

Her Majesty also visited Al Rafeed Charitable Association where She met with more than thirty members of six different associations that benefited from the Qudurat Project. The participants talked to Her Majesty about their achievements and challenges they faced.
Her Majesty also attended an awareness session with twenty women from the local community about family violence run by the Family Protection Directorate.

Al Rafeed Charitable Association was established in 1971 and has 182 members, including 22 women. The association’s main project is aiding the local farming community through lending agricultural equipment.
