Queen Rania Listens In on JRF’s “One in a Million” Celebration

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) – Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met today with groups of beneficiaries of the Jordan River Foundation (JRF) programs, representing the different initiatives that the Foundation has committed itself to throughout the last fifteen years.

As part of JRF’s 15 year anniversary celebrations, Her Majesty met with a group of 170 beneficiaries who were divided into three groups. Each group presented the Queen with their success stories and the effect that JRF programs have had on them.

Queen Rania heard from all three groups, about the successes and the sustainable objectives that they managed to achieve with help through training and funding from JRF.

Her Majesty expressed how happy and proud She was of all the JRF achievements that were highlighted through its beneficiaries and said their achievements reflect true Jordanian values of determination and ambition to bring about positive change.

Her Majesty told the beneficiaries that “change does not take place over night, it takes time and fortitude to reach ones’ goals”

Queen Rania also said that in her view “the noblest form of patriotism is seen through those who volunteer their time and effort to serve their society and elevate their community” Adding that such individuals set examples for others and are role models to the society at large.

The first group to meet with the Queen included seventy beneficiaries from the Community Empowerment Program (CEP). The second group consisted of fifty mothers and children from the Child Safety Program, and the third included fifty youths from various other programs, including JRF’s volunteering groups.

JRF’s recent “one in a million” campaign is a celebration of more than one million direct and indirect beneficiaries the Foundation has reached through its two main programs; Jordan River for Community Empowerment and Jordan River for Child Safety, in addition to the capacity building, trainings and programs that focus on youth as active members of society.
