Queen Rania visits Jerash, commends Qudorat sustainable development programs

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Jerash) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited beneficiaries of the Qudorat program in Jerash, Monday, to support the sustainable projects.

During her tour of the various Qudorat success stories, the Queen stopped in on a kindergarten and nursery established by the Jazazeh Women’s Cooperative through a grant from the Qudorat Program. The kindergarten, which was the first to be established in its district, accommodates 31 children, while the nursery accommodates 12.

Her Majesty also met with representatives of different organizations that receive the Qudorat grant. During her meeting, the Queen noted the impact and importance of sustainable development in increasing the quality of life for Jordanian citizens.

Funded and supervised by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation’s Enhanced Productivity Program (EPP), Qudorat provides community based organizations, particularly in impoverished areas, with grants to start sustainable development ventures works to combat poverty and unemployment and to encourage local development initiatives.

Queen Rania’s Jordan River Foundation (JRF) is one of the NGOs that has partnered with the Ministry of Planning to implement Qudorat. Governorates under JRF’s grant include Aqaba, Maan, Irbid, Ajloun, Jerash, and Balqaa.
