Queen Rania inaugurates new building of Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah inaugurated the new building of the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences (AABFS) in Shafa Badran.

Queen Rania’s involvement with the AABFS stems from her keen interest in raising the level of education for Jordanian and Arab citizens. During the visit, Queen Rania toured the facilities of the new building of the AABFS and met with the Board of trustees.

At the meeting she highlighted that the Academy is a realization of the joint Arab efforts and strong partnerships that aim at raising the quality of education in the Arab world and creating qualified employees who have the ability to cope with regional and international challenges.

The Board further discussed plans to expand the Academy’s activities in the Arab countries including Syria, Sudan, and Iraq.

They stressed the importance of training banking personnel in Iraq at this critical time especially in the field of micro-finance to help the Iraqi people in the reconstruction process of their country.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials and representatives of the banking sectors in Jordan and the Arab world.

During the ceremony, Queen Rania presented plaques to entities and individuals who extended financial and technical contribution to the Academy.

The Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences is a regional pan-Arab institute located in Jordan and focuses on the human resources of the Arab Banking and financial industry. Queen Rania is the Honorary President of the Academy and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees.
