Queen Rania, UNDP Chief Helen Clark Discuss Regional Post-2015 Development

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department-Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met today with Ms. Helen Clark, the Administrator of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Chair of the United Nations Development Group (UNDG), to discuss regional consultations on the post-2015 development agenda.
 
Queen Rania, who is a member of the U.N. High Level Panel (HLP) that will help advise on the shape of the post-2015 development agenda, discussed with Ms. Clark the outputs of her meetings with Arab leaders from civil society, research institutes and academia held last month to outline the main development challenges and priorities of the Arab world which will help shape the post-2015 development agenda.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Sima Bahous, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Regional Director of the Bureau for Arab States of UNDP, and Ms. Costanza Farina, UNDP Resident Representative Jordan.

Clark is on an official visit to Jordan to discuss the role of UNDP in supporting development in the kingdom. She will also address the UNDG-organized Arab Development Forum which will be held in Amman April 10-11 under the patronage of Queen Rania. The forum will group around 80 civil society delegates from across the Arab world to discuss development priorities for the region.
