Queen Rania Visits Hai Nazzal in Amman

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met with about thirty women beneficiaries of grants given out by Her Majesty for income generating projects in Hai Nazzal. The grants were given in cooperation with Community Centers Association (CCA) and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC) in 2008.

At CCA, Her Majesty was briefed by the Director of the Association, Dr. Firyal Saleh on the projects that were implemented in 2008. Three of the women talked to the Queen about how the projects that they started in 2008, which were funded by Her Majesty as part of the MoPIC grant agreement, have improved their economic situation.

Three other women shared with Her Majesty their new project ideas and how they wish to improve their economic conditions through the grants.

Her Majesty expressed Her pride in the women’s achievements, and their ability to come up with entrepreneurial projects that generated income for their families and community as a whole.

Her Majesty also visited the house of Manal Ibrahim, one of the 10 women who benefited from the grants given after Her Majesty’s visit to the area in 2008. Her Majesty followed up on Manal’s project progress and the benefits it provided her and her family.

The Queen also visited the house of Ilham Abdel Mun’em, Ilham, a new beneficiary, has four children and her husband suffers from 80% paralysis. She will be starting a small project which entails selling undergarments and sleepwear to improve and increase their house hold income.

Her Majesty then made a surprise visit to Al Thira’ Primary Health Center. The Queen checked up on the center’s facilities. Her Majesty provided the center with an ultra-sound machine, two wheelchairs and two stretchers.
