Queen Rania Inaugurates Charitable Bazaar in Al Karak

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Al Karak) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah opened today the Union of Mo’ab Women’s Charity Society’s annual bazaar in Al Karak Governorate. Her Majesty toured the bazaar and saw firsthand the products and handicrafts produced locally.

Upon arrival, Her Majesty toured Al Thaher Beibars Park, which was renovated by the Society, accompanied by Mrs. Nayfeh Al Majali, Head of the Society, and its Board of Directors. The Queen was briefed on the society and their different projects and services provided to the local community.

The society was inaugurated in 1959 under the umbrella of the Ministry of Social Affairs. It aims to serve the local community with a focus on women within Al Karak.

Projects of the society include, sewing workshops, Trico teaching workshops, illiteracy programs, Arabic and English typing courses, a nursery and Tawjihi lessons for both males and females.

Her Majesty later joined the society’s General Assembly members for lunch, where she expressed her happiness to be in Al Karak amongst a group of great achievers in the community service field. Mrs. Majali spoke during lunch about the importance of the society, the challenges it faces, and their future plans to expand and extend the reach and variety of their services.
