Queen Rania Attends Jordan's International Women's Forum Reception for Business Leaders

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, attended a reception and lunch hosted by the International Women’s Forum (IWF) Jordan chapter for the participants in the Women Business Leaders Summit.

Fifty women business executives from Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Syria and the United Arab Emirates and 50 women business leaders from the US are taking part in the two-day event, sharing their experiences and exchanging best practices in a variety of panel discussions. 
 
Her Majesty also met with US Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Karen Hughes, who is participating in the summit, on the sidelines of the reception.
 
The IWF is a global organization of prominent women of significant and diverse achievements. It was first established in 1982 to facilitate networking among these women and promote opportunities for women in leadership.

The Jordanian chapter was founded in October 2003 as a private independent association of women who have achieved valuable accomplishments in public life, private sector and civic society, and is registered as a non-profit entity at the Ministry of Interior. It currently has 22 members and is looking to expand by adding 14 new members in 2007.
