Queen Rania Inaugurates Princess Iman Al Abdullah Center for Scientific Research at Hussein Medical City

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Iman inaugurated the opening of the Princess Iman Al-Abdullah Center for Scientific Research at the Hussein Medical City.

The Center was established upon the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah and falls in line with his efforts targeted towards improving the medical services in the Kingdom.

In a presentation delivered to Queen Rania and Princess Iman, Dr. Fayez Al Hujeiri, Director of the Center, introduced the Center's modern technical facilities and the role it will play in raising the standard of medical services in Jordan and the region.

The center will also provide laboratory research to all centers and hospitals of the Royal Medical Services. Accompanied by Princess Iman, Queen Rania toured the Center and visited the various laboratories where she was briefed by the staff on the nature of research undertaken by each laboratory.

The Center contains several laboratories including units specialized in metabolic diseases, immune tumor markers, molecular biology and tissue typing, genetics unit, virology unit and tuberculosis unit.

During the visit, Queen Rania expressed her confidence in Jordan's medical services and in the technical and human capabilities, which has led to placing Jordan at the forefront of medical services in the region.

She added that the modern facilities and the trained personnel at the center will substantially contribute towards meeting the current medical demands and future needs in Jordan and the region.
