In Sahab, Queen Rania Inaugurates New Public School and Announces Adding Older One to Madrasati

(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department- Amman) –Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah inaugurated the newly built Southern Khashafieh Elementary School for Girls in Sahab today.

The school was built upon His Majesty King Abdullah II’s directives following his visit to the area in 2010.

Accompanied by the school’s principle, Mrs. Firyal Al Hadeed, Her Majesty toured the new school facilities. The tour included classrooms, the lab, teachers’ lounge, library, the nursery and Computer Lab.

Students at the school expressed to Her Majesty their joy about attending the new school and its new facilities. Following Her tour, Her Majesty proceeded across the street to the older Southern Khashafieh Elementary School for Boys and toured the schools’ vicinities.

Accompanied by the school principal, Mr. Mousa Abu Hmeid, and Madrasati Director, Ms. Danah Dajani, Her Majesty inspected the old and rundown facilities and was alerted to the schools’ infrastructural and other observable faults.

At the end of the tour, Her Majesty announced the addition of the school to the Madrasati initiative, which will rehabilitate and refurbish the schools infrastructure and facilities, in addition to implementing several educational and extracurricular activities in the school.

With work on the fourth phase of Madrasati commencing earlier this year, the initiative has thus far reached more than 400 public schools, 110,000 students, and 7000 teachers, with more to come.
