Queen Rania Visits Madrasati Schools in Abu Nseir and Safout

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah made a visit to the Abu Nseir Elementary Coed School and the Safout Secondary School for Girls today.

Her Majesty first toured the Abu Nseir School where She met with a group of six teachers who briefed the Queen about the programs, changes, and benefits that Madrasati has provided for the school and its academic environment. Programs that are implemented through Madrasati in the school include: The Queen Rania Teachers Academy (QRTA) math network, sports for development, Jordan Education Initiative (JEI), training of KG Teachers, and extra curricula activities. Some students are also participating in the King Abdullah Award for Physical Fitness.

Her Majesty also visited the school’s nursery and kindergarten where She was briefed on the early childhood development programs that are being implemented in the school.

The Queen had a discussion with students in the 6th grade on what type of programs they took through Madrasati, and what they aspire to achieve through the newly learnt skills.

At the Safout Secondary School for Girls, Her Majesty toured the school’s facilities and met with the school committee which includes teachers, parents, community members and students. Each representative talked to Her Majesty about how they benefited from Madrasati. Programs that are implemented through Madrasati include: JEI, sports for development, employability skills, and extra curricula activities. The school is sponsored by Petra Engineering.

Queen Rania also stopped by the school’s Recycling Gallery and a classroom where Amanai, a Madrasati community mobilizer, and Mohammad Al Hmoud, one of Madrasati’s volunteers were giving the students a session on ‘how to plan your future and set your goals’.
