The Family Care Society was established in 1969 by a group of women who saw the need to provide services to refugees and other underprivileged families.

To date the society has almost 400 beneficiaries and provides several services to the women living in the surrounding area of Jabal Al Hussein in addition to other areas such as Marka and some refugee camps such as Al Baqaa, Hiteen, Al Hussein and Al Talbiyeh.

Some of the services provided by the society include a kindergarten for 50 children in Jabal Al Hussein, in addition to other kindergartens established in different refugee camps, traditional dress and handicrafts workshops, and distribution of food to underprivileged families. The society is also in the process of establishing a production kitchen to benefit the women in the local community.
