Queen Rania Opens JRF Annual Exhibition

June 25, 2012

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department-Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah opened today the Jordan River Foundation (JRF) Annual Exhibition of their products and latest collections in the Foundation’s main showroom in Amman.

Her Majesty toured the main showroom where the latest handicrafts collections were on display including the Ikat Collection, which features Jordanian embroidery designs on colorful Indonesian Ikat fabric. Inspired by the festive traditions associated with outdoor living, Wadi Al Rayan Colored Steel Collection incorporates Wadi Al Rayan designs through bright steel frames in an assortment of tables and outdoor entertainment accessories.

Other collections featured this year also include the Wadi Al Rayan Pyrex Collection, and a collaborative collection with Jordanian artist and caricaturist Yazan Khalifeh; this collection presents a variety of fun and playful home accessories that feature famous Arab personalities.

All the proceeds from sales at the JRF showroom are channeled back to its projects and beneficiaries. To date, JRF has reached over one million beneficiaries through its programs, and the Community Empowerment Program. The Foundation operates three main income-generating handicraft projects; the Bani Hamida Women’s Weaving Project, the Wadi Al Rayan Project, and the Jordan River Design Project.

All of the items on display have evolved from Jordanian traditional designs, and combine modern influences to cater to both conventional and contemporary tastes. Every product has its own unique look and feel, designed to meet current trends and styles for local and international customers.
