Queen Rania Meets with GIZ Delegation

(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department – Amman) Earlier today, Her Majesty also met with the German Ambassador to Jordan, Ms. Birgitta Siefker-Eberle, and Dr. Michaela Baur, Country Director of German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Office in Jordan and Lebanon. The meeting came in recognmition of GIZ donation to Madrasati Jordan.

During the meeting, Her Majesty noted the importance of this cooperation, which contributes to education and schools that bear additional burdens as a result of the Syrian exodus to Jordan. The Queen also praised Germany’s position in supporting key sectors in Jordan.

GIZ’s grant will be used over coming two coming years for the implementation of the modified Madrasati model in eight schools and will be co-financed with OFID as part of the Cooperation with Arab Donors in MENA project.

The eight schools are from five governorates in Jordan; Mafraq, Irbid, Balqa, Karak, and Amman. The development will reach approximately 3,200 students, a minimum of 250 teachers and 15,000 community members.
