Queen meets Pope Benedict XVI in Italy

King invites Pope Benedict XVI to visit Jordan

(Royal Hashemite Court, Communication & Information Division - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania delivered an invitation from His Majesty King Abdullah to Pope Benedict XVI to visit Jordan.  During the meeting, the Queen stressed the King's appreciation of the Pope's efforts to enhance cooperation and understanding between followers of different religions and spread values of love and peace in the world.  Queen Rania pointed out that Jordan, under the leadership of King Abdullah, is keen to enhance cooperation with the Pope and the Vatican and supports efforts to bring about permanent, comprehensive and just peace in the region.  The Pope commended His Majesty's efforts to support the revival of the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis and enhance stability in the Middle East.
