Queen Rania Attends Dinner Banquet to Support Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah attended a dinner banquet held by the ‘Jewel that is Jordan’ classic car tour.

The proceeds of the banquet, attended by chairman and founder of the ‘Jewel that is Jordan’ classic car tour, Jonathon Lyons, and Senator Akel Biltaji, as well as owners of classic cars from all over the world as well Jordanian businessmen and officials, will go to Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans.

Highlighting the Queen’s humanitarian and development activities, Lyons explained how contributions could be made in support of the fund to provide hope for children. Meanwhile, Lina Kobti, chairperson of the fund’s board of trustees, briefed the participants on the objectives of the fund which finances education and training programmes for orphans after they reach the age of 1.

At the end of the banquet, Biltaji acted as auctioneer for a collection of rare items and donations.

Queen Rania launched the fund in 2003 to provide orphans who have graduated from orphan care centres with support that enables them to become active and productive members of society.
